The Kepi Project Gallery...

All facilities need some work to keep them in tip top shape and Camp Juno in Helmand Province, Afghanistan is no exception. Housekeeping is necessary to ensure everything is fully operational and this includes maintaining existing infrastructure such as fencing, existing and new groundworks. In support of British military operations and UK Works Group Royal Engineers Kepi were engaged to carry out repair and refurbishment around the camp in a number of areas.

There are many examples of Kepi delivering part of a project as a sub-contractor, either working on their own bespoke area or working in collaboration on a part of the construction and build. In this particular case Kepi were working with CADG as a sub-contractor tasked with supplying the building that housed a number of fuel storage tanks and their ancillary equipment. The location was Camp Shorabak in Helmand, Afghanistan and the project was part of the US Reconstruction Project in the Province.

As well as major construction and infrastructure projects Kepi also deliver lower key works. These are just as important as they provide necessary servicers such as this one. The Australian Department of Defence were looking to improver the levels of security around their precincts at Camp Qargha, Kabul in Afghanistan and they wanted a comprehensive plan and installation for their internal fencing. This needed to include “ceremonial” as well as vehicle and pedestrian gates.

Kepi were contracted by HMPS to carry out major resurfacing work on the roads inside the prison estate at HMP Humber, located in Everthorpe. This involved planing out the existing roads, disposing of spoil from the site and all resurfacing work, including replacing all road markings including line work and on-road signage. With a total area of 8055sq metres to dig up and replace the job took just nine days to complete.

Whilst it is always a pleasure to work on large civil engineering and major building projects the Kepi team also get tasked to complete smaller bespoke jobs. In this case a couple of Plant Rooms were required at Hamid Karzai International Airport, Kabul, Afghanistan by the NATO Support & Procurement Agency. Kepi took on the design, construction and fitting out contract, demonstrating their ability to deliver smaller but complete turnkey projects.

Kepi deliver major infrastructure projects in the conflict zone of Afghanistan, mainly for the various international defence forces. These clients require their contractors to carry out their work quickly but to a very high standard so that future maintenance is kept to a minimum. Kepi were happy to take on a road maintenance and upgrade project, with drainage work included, for the Australian Department of Defence in Camp Qargha, Kabul.

Bagram Airfield in Afghanistan is an important logistical hub for the combined armed forces who are part of the military and peace keeping forces in the region. They require state of the art facilities to ensure they are not just able to operate efficiently but that all their activities can be safely carried out. So when a new servicing area and associated technical accommodation was required on the air base they came to Kepi to help deliver some of the facilities and features.

As part of a 3 year contract Kepi were engaged to deliver a project to design, build and manage the installation of 20km of pipeline in Kurdistan, Iraq. This was on behalf of a British oil and gas company. The pipeline has the capacity to deliver 8,000 barrels, which is 1.25 million litres, per day from the well head to the production facility. The project value was circa $2m. 

This project covered a wide range of works including the modification of existing buildings, the construction of new on site facilities, the refurbishment and improvement of site services and infrastructure. The work was located in a war/conflict zone and in a very difficult geographical and cultural environment. This job was completed in Summer 2020

We have just completed our first order for these Luxury Lodges which we are producing in our dedicated facility in Driffield. The seven that have been ordered are constructed from Structural Insulated Panels (SIPS), which are manufactured by our sister company SPT Systems.

This project covered a number of requirements including the modification of existing buildings, the construction of new one’s and increasing the capacity of on site services. It was located in a war/conflict zone and also in a very harsh desert environment.

KEPI International Solutions recently secured and delivered a contract for UK STRE (ME) to construct a technical storage area and vehicle repair centre at the combined security forces Camp Fortune in Afghanistan.

The Australian Defence Force needed a reliable and experienced Facilities management company to run, maintain and operate their diverse range of buildings located across the city of Kabul in Afghanistan. They chose Kepi and whist this was a challenging contract, in a war zone, we have managed their Kabul property portfolio to a very standard.
