Electrician

Kepi International Solutions Ltd are currently looking for a Journeyman Electrician with a strong bias in inspection and maintenance to join their team. Reporting to the Project Manager, the role holder will provide a wide range of support to all functions and will be responsible for the day-to-day Maintenance needs of projects overseas on military bases. This is a rotational role, working overseas in conflict and post conflict environments. Candidates must have had prior experience of working in such conditions and in good physical health to work in arduous conditions.

The Job

Kepi International Solutions Ltd are currently looking for a Journeyman Electrician with a strong bias in inspection and maintenance to join their team. Reporting to the Project Manager, the role holder will provide a wide range of support to all functions and will be responsible for the day-to-day Maintenance needs of projects overseas on military bases.

This is a rotational role, working overseas in conflict and post conflict environments. Candidates must have had prior experience of working in such conditions and in good physical health to work in arduous conditions.

What the role involves:


Installs, tests and repairs grounding systems in accordance with accepted codes, standards and manufacturer’s recommendations. Plans new or modified installations to minimize waste of materials. Provide access for future maintenance, and avoid unsightly, hazardous and unreliable wiring, consistent with specifications and local electrical codes. Prepares sketches showing location of wiring and equipment, or follows diagrams or blueprints, ensuring that concealed wiring is installed before completion of future walls, ceilings, and flooring. Measures, cuts, bends, threads, assembles and installs electrical conduit using tools such as hacksaw, pipe threader and conduit bender. Pulls wiring through conduit, assisted by electrician helper. Splices wires by stripping insulation from terminal leads, using knife or pliers, twisting or soldering wires together, and applying tape or terminal caps per accepted codes and standards. Connects wiring to lighting fixtures and power equipment, using hand tools. Installs control and distribution apparatus, such as switches, relays and circuit-breaker panels, fastening in place with screws or bolts, using hand tools and power tools. Connects power cables and ground leads to equipment and other electrical utilization equipment such as motors, HVAC units, etc. Test’s continuity of circuit to ensure electrical compatibility and safety of components, using testing instruments, such as ohmmeter, battery and buzzer, and oscilloscope. Observes functioning of installed equipment or system to detect hazards and need for adjustment, relocation or replacement. May repair faulty equipment or systems.

What we are looking for:

  • Qualified Electrician by trade to NVQ Level 3 or similar
  • 18th Edition Wiring Regs
  • 2391/2394 or 2395 Testing & Inspection
  • Own hand tools.
  • Ensuring allocated, planned maintenance and small repairs are carried out.
  • Have previous site experience (minimum of 3 years).
  • Health and Safety and Asbestos Awareness.
  • Own tools.
  • Proactive, self-driven, results-oriented with a positive outlook.
  • Keen to deliver exceptional customer service.
  • An effective leader, motivator and mentor of local trades.• Flexible and reliable.
  • Empathic communicator, able to see things from the other person's point of view.• Able to work as part of a team.
  • Previous overseas contract experience on Defence and Military establishments essential.
  • Strong work ethic.
